From 19-20 October 2023, the UN Economic Commission for Latin America (UN-ECLAC) and the Commission for Regional Energy Integration (CIER), with support from GET.transform, will host the Energy Transition Forum (‘Foro de Transición Energética’) conference on the risks and opportunities that the energy transformation offers to the electricity industry in Latin America.

CIER is an international regional institution that brings together energy sector organisations in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the aim of building a more integrated, sustainable and resilient energy sector to enable economic growth and social benefit across the region.

The conference will bring together ministry and government officials, international organisations, private sector delegates, and representatives from the civil society. Themes that will be explored include opportunities for regional energy integration, a road map for green hydrogen, distributed generation and storage, as well as electrification of demand and energy efficiency.
