“Technology, Investment and Infrastructure – Enabling Energy Sustainability” is the theme of Uganda’s Power and Electricity Forum 2023. The event is organised by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) in collaboration with Uganda Renewable Energy And Energy Efficiency Alliance (UNREEEA) and forms part of the Power & Elec Uganda International Exhibition 2023 (13-15 July, 2023).

While the Exhibition serves as an important gateway for the East African power industry, the Forum aims to particularly highlight the role of energy in contributing to sustainable development.

GET.transform will support the event with expert insights in the panel “Understanding the new trends and how technology can accelerate the energy transition” (14 July, 11:20am EAT/10:20am CET):

  • Lubowa Mohamed, Vice Chairman USEA & MD, All In Trade Ltd
  • James Baanabe, Energy Consultant
  • Henry Jumba, Country Coordinator Uganda, GET.transform
  • Brian Isabirye, Commissioner, Renewable Energy Department, MEMD
  • Bernard Mbaine, CEO, UNREEEA (Moderator)

The session will investigate latest technology developments but also discuss how local manufacturing and innovation can advance achieving energy sustainability.
