The 2nd Namibia–EU Business Forum 2026, held from 11–13 May in Windhoek under the theme “Strengthening Green Economies & Trade, brought together over 400 participants from Namibia and the European Union, including policymakers, private sector leaders, financiers, development partners, and industry representatives. The Forum strengthened cooperation on strategic investments, green industrialisation, and sustainable economic growth.

Across panel discussions, exhibitions, and structured Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Government (B2G) matchmaking sessions, participants examined ways to strengthen investment flows, improve the enabling business environment, and enhance trade relations under the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). Under the EU Delegation to Namibia and the Global Gateway initiative, GET.transform organised the EU Pavillion together with its sister programmes, GET.invest and the Green Hydrogen Business Alliance (H2BA).

GET.transform presented the planned support activities for the update of Namibia’s National Integrated Resource Plan (NIRP), which is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, as well as the ongoing efforts to develop an Energy Master Plan. The presentation outlined Namibia’s long-term energy strategy, including strengthening energy security through diversified supply, expanding renewable energy generation, reinforcing transmission infrastructure, enabling industrial development through integrated energy planning, and advancing renewable hydrogen as a central pillar of green industrialisation. It further highlighted the role of integrated planning frameworks in aligning energy system development with national industrial growth priorities, thereby supporting broader economic transformation.

The Forum is anchored in the broader EU–Namibia Strategic Partnership Roadmap, launched in 2023 by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the former Namibian President Hage Geingob. A key outcome was the renewed commitment by Namibia and the EU to accelerate green industrialisation, strengthen local value chains, and support inclusive economic growth. Discussions also emphasised the need for stronger coordination between government, the private sector, and development partners to unlock investment and implement priority projects.

Looking ahead, the momentum forged at the Forum is expected to further enhance project pipelines, investment mobilisation, and implementation of priority initiatives under Namibia’s green economy and energy transition agenda.
