Following the Berlin Renewable Energy Grid Integration Week, held from 6 to 10 October 2025, GET.transform organised a dedicated workshop with delegates from Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Kazakhstan, in collaboration with Energynautics. The session provided an opportunity for focused dialogue, fostering exchange and cooperation among regional energy experts and stakeholders.

The participating energy sector stakeholders included representatives from  Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Energy and Power Development (MoEPD), Zimbabwe Electricity Distribution Company (ZETDC), Renewable Energy Association of Zimbabwe (REAZ), Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA), Zimbabwe Independent Power Producers Association (ZIPPA), Electricity Company of Mozambique (EDM) and Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company (KEGOC). KEGOC’s participation was supported by EURECA, which has been collaborating with GET.transform through the Leveraged Partnerships modality. The meeting was structured in two parts to maximise comparative learning and practical discussion on regional energy challenges and opportunities.

Delegates engaged in comparative discussions on the energy and power sector outlooks across their respective regions. The exchange highlighted similarities and contrasts in how each country is approaching renewable energy integration, policy development, and investment in grid modernisation. Participants also explored opportunities for regional cooperation, particularly in knowledge transfer, technical training, and harmonisation of power market regulations to accelerate clean energy transitions.

The second session focused specifically on Zimbabwe, where a new GET.transform and GET.invest Country Window has been launched earlier this year. This milestone has unlocked new avenues for technical assistance and collaboration on the ground. The discussion centred on Zimbabwe’s system readiness for Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) integration, addressing current infrastructure capacities, policy frameworks, and technical requirements needed to scale up renewable energy deployment effectively.

The workshop not only reinforced existing partnerships but also set the stage for deeper cooperation between the participating countries, GET.transform and Energynautics, paving the way for a more interconnected and resilient renewable energy future across the regions.
