Government representatives, academia, and the private sector came together for the VIII CIMEQH Engineering Congress 2025 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Organised by CIMEQH, Honduras’s leading engineering institution, the congress offers peer exchanges, fosters green innovation, and highlights the role of engineering in renewable energy, resource efficiency, and emissions reduction.

GET.transform contributed expert insights to core themes shaping this year’s event: building synergies for a Latin American electrical interconnection and promoting the technical dialogue for a fair and sustainable energy transition. In a keynote on the first theme, GET.transform’s Regional Window Coordinator, Michael Mechlinski, illustrated how enhanced regional cooperation can strengthen national energy strategies. In parallel, a high-level meeting with Honduran energy authorities offered the opportunity to delve into GET.transforms’s regional work and explore potential areas for a future collaboration in tune with national priorities.

The second theme was led by Osly Roberto Rodas, Technical Advisor Central America at GET.transform, who moderated three strategic panels that focused on:

  • the current situation and future prospects for the development of the national electricity system,
  • the importance of social justice in the energy transition, and
  • the opportunities and challenges of electric mobility in the country.

By facilitating an open dialogue and building connections among key players, the event contributed to strengthening technical exchange and regional collaboration in support of Honduras’s energy transition.
