IRENA’s Long-term Energy Scenarios (LTES) Global Network recently concluded the 5th edition of the International Forum on Long-term Scenarios in Bonn, Germany. IRENA’s LTES Network provides a global platform to exchange knowledge and good practices in the use and development of model-based energy scenarios to guide the clean energy transition.
The 5th Forum brought together scenario practitioners from government, academia, technical institutions, international organisations, and the private sector. The conference focused on the alignment between energy and climate planning, the role of scenario planning in de-risking investment for the clean energy transition, scenario communication, energy security, and hydrogen integration.
GET.transform Technical Advisor, Alessia De Vita, contributed as an expert speaker to two sessions of the International Forum. The first session, co-hosted with Brazil, explored how robust planning frameworks can facilitate the funding of the clean energy transition. The second panel discussed the “Effective Communication of Long-Term Energy Scenarios.” This session delved into the relevance of effective communication for stakeholder engagement and the successful implementation of long-term energy strategies.
