Building Synergies for Electrical Interconnection in Central America

The 17th International Gas & Energy Forum (IGEF 2025) is scheduled to take place from April 2 to 4, 2025, in Panama City. This annual event serves as a pivotal platform for energy professionals, policymakers, and innovators to discuss and shape the future of energy in Latin America and the Caribbean. 

GET.transform will support the event with insights and findings on regional electricity integration. Together with the European Union Delegation to Panama, GET.transform will co-chair the panel ‘Building Synergies for Electrical Interconnection in Central America’ (4 April, 12-13.30 EST). Michael Mechlinski, Regional Window Coordinator at GET.transform, will give a keynote speech before an expert panel will discuss the challenges and opportunities tied to increased cross-border electricity integration. The speakers include representatives from the CIER – Comisión de Integración Energética Regional, the EU, the Secretaría General del Sistema de la Integración Centroamericana (SG-SICA) and the Council of the Regional Electricity Market (CDMER).
