Africa Energy Indaba Week is scheduled to take place from 3 to 5 March in Cape Town, South Africa. Hosted by the Department of Electricity and Energy of the Republic of South Africa in partnership with the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), the 18th edition of the forum, held under the theme of “Igniting the Power Revolution” will bring together energy ministers, policymakers, investors, and industry leaders to shape Africa’s energy landscape.

Over three days, the event will address energy policy, regional power integration and financing, renewable energy and future energy innovation. The programme features high-level plenary sessions, exhibitions, networking opportunities and project showcases, all designed to accelerate sustainable growth across the continent.

Together with its sister programme GET.invest and the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) Secretariat, GET.transform will join the Africa Energy Indaba exhibition under the banner of the BMZ-funded project.

Meet our experts at the booth for an insightful exchange, or join us at the following sessions:

Tuesday, 3 March 2026 (11:15-12:30 SAST)

GET.invest and AEEP will support AUDA-NEPAD’s plenary panel 1 session on the topic of “Planning to Bankability: What Will Finally Unlock Investment and Private Sector Engagement in Africa’s Power Infrastructure?”, where senior leaders will explore practical pathways to enhance project bankability and attract private finance.

Wednesday, 4 March 2026 (9:00-17:00 SAST)

AEEP, under the banner of ENGAGE, will support the EU-funded Continental Energy Programme for Africa (CEPA) or the AfSEM-CMP Deep Dive Session on the topic of “Enhancing Africa’s pipeline of bankable power infrastructure projects”. The session aims to promote priority energy infrastructure projects and attract interest from investors, financiers, developers, and key stakeholders. It also seeks to strengthen Africa’s pipeline of mature, bankable power projects, encourage public–private sector cooperation, and deepen partnerships between the African Union (AU) and the European Union (EU) in support of flagship initiatives such as AfSEM and CMP.

Thursday, 5 March 2026

Benjamin Schober, Head of Advisory Services at GET.transform, will join as a panellist in the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) Conference. The discussion will focus on the evolving role of IPPs and PPAs in meeting the continent’s growing energy demand.
