Advancing Africa’s Energy Transition through Regulation

AFUR, GET.transform and Power Futures Lab share regulatory success factors at AEEP Forum 2022

On 7 September 2022, the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) Forum will bring together key stakeholders from the energy and climate sectors to discuss converging bicontinental energy ambitions through COP27 and beyond. Speakers and panelists include H.E. Dr Amani Abou-Zeid, Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, African Union Commission, H.E. Birgitte Markussen, Ambassador, Head of the EU Delegation to the African Union, Asami Miketa, Senior Programme Officer, Power Sector Investment Planning at IRENA, and Callixte Kambanda, Manager for Energy Policy, African Development Bank (AfDB). 

The Forum also offers participants the opportunity to engage with leading initiatives through virtual booths and networking roundtables covering key themes of the African energy transition. Together with the African Forum of Utility Regulators (AFUR) and the University of Cape Town’s Power Futures Lab, GET.transform will be an exhibitor at the event and host the networking roundtable dedicated to regulation. Sharing key learnings from their work, the experts will connect in a live discussion with participants on the role of regulation in advancing sustainable electrification.
