The 11th OLACDE Energy Week in Santo Domingo will see the launch of a newly expanded action by GET.transform and GET.invest in the region that is being supported by Germany, the EU and Denmark. The action demonstrates a robust German and European partnership with Latin America and the Caribbean in advancing the energy transition, strengthening regional energy integration and mobilising investment in the region.

The new presence in Latin America will link GET.transform´s technical advisory services with GET.invest´s complementary project preparation and funding support in the new ´Policy to Deal´ Approach. Both programmes form part of the Global Energy Transformation Programme (GET.pro). Synergetic support will connect reforms and investment mobilisation, turning public priorities into concrete infrastructure projects with improved conditions for implementation and financing.

Organised by the Government of Energy and Mines of the Dominican Republic and Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization, OLACDE Energy Week is the leading political and technical gathering of the energy sector, bringing together key decision makers and experts in Latin America and the Caribbean to build partnerships and exchange knowledge for a sustainable energy future.

GET.transform is co-organising the event alongside the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank (BID), and Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), uniting 27 member countries of OLACDE alongside Ministers of Energy, to analyse trends, challenges and opportunities shaping the energy transition.

Over the course of three days, discussions between ministries, companies, regulators, international agencies and the public will evaluate the global energy scene to understand how regional and national actors impact the sector´s development in the short and long term.

The opening ceremony on 6 October features distinguished speakers such as Myriam Ferrán, Deputy Director General, European Commission Directorate General for International Partnerships, Luis Abinader Corona, President of the Dominican Republic, Daniel Werner, Programme Manager of GET.pro, and more.
